Feng Chia Night Market
A stone's throw from Feng Chia University, Feng Chia Night Market is one of the most famous and popular Taiwan attractions. Claiming to be the largest night market in all of Taiwan, the district is renowned for its various Taiwanese street foods.
Rainbow Military Housing
The Rainbow Military Housing is one of the most famous Taichung attractions. The vibrant, colorful housing complex features gorgeous artwork via bright colors and unique drawings adorning the walls.
National Taichung Theater
Opened in September 2016 and designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Japanese architect Toyo Ito. National Taichung Theater is more than a building that simply houses the opera. This theater is the new hub for the performing arts in all of Taiwan, in addition to a groundbreaking architectural marvel and landmark Taichung attraction in its own right.
Taichung Park
Since its establishment on October 28, 1903 (Meiji 36), Taichung Park has been an essential landmark in Taichung City. The park has artificial lakes, pavilions, curved bridges, and other beautiful landscaping. The game area, tennis court, and many other recreational facilities are suitable for parents and children to go to leisure and sports together. Because it is located in the downtown area of Taichung and has convenient transportation, it has become a popular Taichung attraction for scenic experiences and family holidays in Taiwan.
Yizhong Night Market
A centrally-located Taichung night market and one of the city’s hippest spots, Yizhong Night Market resides near Taichung First Senior High School, the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and the National Taiwan University of Sport.
Providing food stalls catered to students from the area, Yizhong’s proximity to hotels in Taichung and some Central District attractions has many other groups flocking here to feast, shop for fashionable items, and play night market games in a trendy environment.
National Museum Of Natural Science
Taiwan’s National Museum of Natural Science is one of Taichung's most heavily attended attractions and possibly the busiest museum in the country.
Containing over 50 permanent exhibit areas covering astronomy, space science, paleontology, ecology, gems and minerals, human culture, plants, geology, and more, this museum has something for everyone, filled with hands-on learning exhibits that delight visitors of all ages.
National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts
Established in 1988, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) is Taiwan’s first and only national-grade fine arts museum. NTMoFA is one of the largest museums in Asia, containing a permanent collection of works by Taiwanese artists from the eighteenth century to the present day.
Moreover, NTMoFA features an outdoor sculpture park, showcasing Taiwanese sculptural art development and a family room and picture book area encouraging children to love art and reading.
Miyahara
Miyahara is a former ophthalmology clinic reinvented into a pastry and ice cream shop and one of the most popular Taiwan attractions today. This restaurant and retail shop peddles chocolates, cookies, and traditional Taiwanese pastries, including their famous pineapple and sun cakes.
Maple Garden
No matter what season, strolling in Maple Garden is a pleasant enjoyment! Located next to Taiwan Avenue in Taichung City, is a unique concave-shaped public leisure green space in Taichung. The Garden or the park, covers an area of more than 3 hectares. It has lakes, mangroves, green lawns, and viewing bridges. It is a great outdoor space for weekend family activities with comfortable greens during the day, brilliant and ever-changing lights at night. It has quickly become one of the most popular attractions in Taichung since its opening.
Luce memorial Chapel
The otherwise known Lu Siyi Church of Tunghai University is a symbol of the faith of Donghai people. It is located in the center of the entire campus. Because of this, the church has become the most important spiritual indicator of the Donghai people, and it is the masterpiece of the famous Chinese-American architect Mr. IM Pei. For the sake of lighting and expressing the structure clearly, the church is composed of four three-degree curved panels, similar to the bottom of an inverted boat. It can express the "curved" beauty of Luce Church. Every Christmas, Luce Church is an important place for celebrations.
Calligraphy Greenway
Calligraphy Greenway (pedestrian walkway), from the National Museum of Natural Science in the north to the belt-shaped urban space structure of the Art Park Road and Green Park Road in the south, and along dotted with National Museum of Natural Science, Taichung Civic Square, Eslite (a bookstore) Green Park Road, Park Lane by CMP Mall, it is an art space, food courts and other activity nodes, sometimes compact and sometimes quiet, the activity intensity, atmosphere and space scale are thick and light, dense and sparse, just like the natural and smooth charm of "cursive" in calligraphy.
Natural Way Six Arts Center
Built in 1937, the Taichung Butokuten was originally a judo and kendo training arena for correction officers. As of 2004, the building became registered by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government as a heritage building landmark.
The New Six Arts at the Natural Way Six Arts center promotes courses in tea art, guqin (Chinese lyre), archery, kendo, etc., attempting to build an arena for cultural and spiritual dialog in a serene environment.
Liuchuan Riverside Walk
Liuchuan is one of the four important rivers in the center of Taichung. After renovation, it became the first landscape river bank developed by sustainable ecological construction method in the urban area. The scenery is pleasant during the day, and the lights are bright at night. It has become a new popular attraction in Taichung. It is not only a good place for IG selfie, is also a breathing river, which has both the aesthetic feeling and the function of water storage and irrigation.
Daliyi Cultural Center
The Dali Man Culture Museum was originally the Dali Man Baozheng Meeting House during the Japanese occupation period. It was built in the 4th year of the Japanese occupation (1929 AD), so the building itself is a historic building. After World War II, it served as the household registration office and village activity center. It was only in 1988 reconstruction project of the Dali Man Old Street that this space was changed into the Dali Man Cultural Center. The museum regularly publishes historical materials such as "Dali Mu Old Street, Past and Present", and special exhibitions are planned at regular intervals.
Zhonghua Road Night market
Zhonghua Road Night Market is filled with many old Taiwanese snack stands. It has over 50 years of history It is one of the biggest early night markets in Taichung City.
Taichung Station
One of the most complete railway stations in Taiwan, the new station, the old station, and the very first generation station, that form a unique "three generations under one roof" system.
Taichung State Government
The Taichung State Government building is a location still in use today. It was originally designed by Moriyama Matsunosuke during the Japanese colonial period. Situated near the Taichung Railway Station, shopping districts, and historic streets, this historic building is easily accessible from SOF Hotel in Taichung.
Taichung Broadcast Studio
This former radio station in the North District, Taichung, Taiwan, opened on May 11, 1935, representing the third radio station in the country during the Japanese occupation. The station today regularly exhibits culture, design, music, and photography.
